I think we're overlooking the obvious here. I've used it in classrooms in China to teach the English names for parts of the body. And it's definitely a one-hit wonder.

Yep, Hey Mickey by Toni Basil. She was a choreographer and recorded that song on a lark. Boom, #1 everywhere. Then she disappeared, probably went back to choreography.
