8. Let's put it this way: a member of a supergroup wrote this song for a member of another supergroup, but their friendship deteriorated, especially after one of the musicians married the ex-wife of the other.

SAVOY TRUFFLE / THE BEATLES...(I couldn't get past George Harrison & Clapton... I was looking all through the forest for another band Clapton played in... then THE BEATLES hit me like a tree)

Good one, Nym!

PEANUTS / CHARLES M. SCHULZ

Wow - I remember Violet, Spike, Franklin, the Little Red-Haired Girl, 'Rerun' and even '5'. But 'Truffles' eludes me! (eta: Wait - was Truffles a beagle?)

EDNORT ONALICE / LEG'E NDARY JOE TALKK / ANDHO WSWIT

*actor / movie / writer
*theme quenched...or not
*the film was remade for TV in 1994 with the writer playing the main character
*writer and actor are both iconic
*actor's signature line is/was on a sign between Manhattan and Brooklyn
*writer's quotes are more often melancholy...yet humorous
*clue in scramble again

AHA BUTTERRFO /OUR EXES HONT MRSCOTCH

1. Movie / main actors, as billed
2. Continuing the theme (this one can be both eaten and drunk).
3. The title is spelled in an old-fashioned way.

OAK TREE / NUTS NH CBTRUNK' / GROUPIE
- band / song / album
- band and album fit the theme, though you probably wouldn't use the band's name to order the food...
- song title was a catchphrase of the era, often associated with a Crumby character
- band was well known in its day, but was a spinoff of a MUCH better known, more Slick band
- original band produced some wonderful, classic rock songs; later 'modernised' its name twice, changed over most of its personnel, and in its latter days issued what many believe is the lamest rock song of all time

Nice one. You got two kinds of food in there, Poet. To reward you, I'm going to send you 100 copies of your favorite song, "We Built This City."
