Hello,
I am new to this site. I stumbled across it because of my HUGE frustration with my synopsis, or should I say SUCKOPSIS, for my young adult book. It just never feels adequate or sparkly enough. I covered everything I should, but its way too long, 3 pages! I see a lot of examples that are that long, but everyone recommends only 1 pagers! To cover the character arc, plot, and keep it interesting. Whoa, the pressure! I am just at the searching for an agent process of my first novel.

In real life I teach 8th grade English, but I love writing too. I am a busy mom and everything that comes with a house full... from teens to first grade.

My dream is to have my book published. I know teens well, at times, a little too well! I would love for my book to be that right fit book for one them.

Glad I found this site.

A word to the wise, (50 posts), it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. Welcome to the cooler, glacier! From what I've learned, it's good to have a few different lengths for your synopsis so you are ready when an agent requests a 1, 3, or 5 pager.

You aren't alone feeling like the synopsis looses its sparkle, either. I'm in the same boat. Lots to learn here, though. Good luck!
