For those of you with FT jobs, how do you find the balance between freelancing as a second job and the rest of your life? I'm at the point where I can pick and choose and write interesting things that pay well. It's a good place to be, but I am also overwhelmed because I cannot seem to use the word "no." How do you schedule your writing time with all of your other obligations? Maybe I should hire someone to clean my house.

Do you limit the work you take on? How do you quantify how much time to invest in writing vs other areas?

You have to work at saying no when it takes too much of your energy. I recently did this with my work. I quit one of my jobs so I could focus on my writing and exercising. I left a job I liked because it wasn't producing as much money as it was taking energy. You may be able to snip out those offers that take more than they give. Just examine each situation and ask yourself if it is truly worth it. You will have to make hard choices so you can do better overall.
