Damning with faint praise, but some pretty good money

Here's a poetry contest with a $1500 first prize, but winning may be an honor not wanted, and certainly not to be bragged about.

I got an honorable mention in 2003, IIRC. Whatever the year was before they started giving honorable mentions money. I got a t-shirt and a certificate. Big hairy deal.

The poem I submitted this year was lost in my most recent computer crash. Good riddance. The only way I'll ever see it again is if it wins, places or shows. That'll be entirely too soon.

I can't remember if I sent one into them in the past, but this year, I sent in "Just One Whiskey More" which can be found on my profile page and hope fully can send "Couldv'e Been Cowboy" in next years contest, (Which i couldn't send it in this year as it had already been submitted to "The Bellingham Review"

Hope you come in second, JRH. ;)

Unfortunately, I just found a printed off copy of my submission, so it's not completely lost.

Good luck to you, Sir Otter, I can settle for second and wait 'til next year.
