Hi all
My name is Julie, I found you through a link on SFFChronicles.
I have written one novel so far called Time Watchers: The Greatest of These. It's about 140K words. I actually wrote it a few years ago, sent it off to a few agents, got a few rejections, got disheartened and went back to the day job.
Then, a couple of months ago, I discovered that you could publish your own books on Kindle so I dug it out, dusted it off, did a spot of editing and put it on Amazon and Smashwords, who put it on a few other places.
I also put my father-in-law's book on, which is outselling mine, much to my disgust!!
I intend to write some more Time Watchers books - it was always meant to be the first of a series, although my current opus is a women's fiction. I'm on target to finish the first rough draft of that by July.
I'm a music teacher by profession, currently doing supply in a vain attempt to get back into the profession after having time off to have my daughters. Work at the moment is very poor which is great for my writing, but not so great for my bank balance.
I have the JK Rowling dream, that my series of books will take off and get made into a movie series and I'll become rich and famous - but don't all writers have that dream?
I would settle for making a living off my writing - but don't all writers wish for that too?
The best thing is when people to read my stuff and say, "You know what, I really enjoyed that! I'd like to BE *insert character name here*."
So, hi - I'll be hanging around here for a while I think.
