I've been spammed by a Dr Michael J Duckett the CEO of Hyper Publishing who claims to be a publisher and distributor for independent authors.

I'm presuming that anyone who needs to spam people to drum up business is not worth doing business with.

I do wonder where he got my e-mail address from as it is not widely known. They are based in Alpharetta GA and I recall submitting to a dodgy agency based down that way a few years ago.

I'm wary of a publisher who asks for this in their submission guidelines:

"A marketing plan that includes all current and future promotions with some sort of timeline, your vision for the future career in publishing, the marketing budget designated for the book you’re submitting, and any existing marketing materials"

Also not happy about charges mentioned on the "Additional Resources" page.

I've gotten several spams from Michael Duckett, hawking various things, including a writing seminar. Looks like your standard get rich quick scheme (for him to get rich, that is).

Last activity was '10 (last book pubbed '08). His Twitter feed is entirely a push for his Fast Coach Training scheme, so it looks like he's moved on.
