And now, a throwback to the old AOL chatroom days:

A/S/L check!

Backread. Why was it time for that? I may be still tired, but I didn't make the connection.

Though in the chatroom I frequent most, that translates into: An only?/Series?/Language writing/reading in. :D

Morning guys.

Great news. I received a contract for my book from an e-publisher last night about 9:30pm PT.

I am so psyched!

~that is all. ;)

Yeah, deffo read the contract. And ask questions (in email) about it if you have any. File the email with the answers away, so if there's any problem, you have proof of what they promised you.

Learned that the hard way with a small press. ;)

My experience with getting a book published by a small press was probably among the worst possible, so I've heard. Thus, I have a lot of precautionary things that I look for when dealing with them.

It's part of the joys of having done something for so bloody long. LOL!

Creepy and wrong.
So if pd decides this contract isn't on the up-and-up things are going to be awkward around here?

What? My stomach's playing up. I can't handle popcorn.

Not awkward at all. PD needs to make her own choices about what's right for her and her book. If it's not right for her, it's not right for her.

I will say though, I wouldn't be about to sub my own work if the contract wasn't fair :). I'm subbing my MS this coming week.

Why don't you sit down and write up a whole bunch of them at once, so you have them when you want to post another?

Decide a day before you run out to write up another batch.

That way, you have plenty of time to review, rewrite, etc, before posting.

It was a thought. I mean, if you can sit and write several pages on a book (or scenes or whatever), it might be possible to do the same for blogging. Or do one every day and post them not that often. The idea is to build up a store of them so when RL shite hits the fan, you're not stuck without.
,
That's what I did when I had a blog I put writing essays on. When I could do that, it was great. When I ran out of that stock pile, the blog failed and I finally closed it.

It was just a thought.
