ETA: And I agree with shoeless. First run Star Wars? That is serious geek cred.

I have a photo somewhere of me at age 6 in a Star Wars sweatshirt (while lying in a metal saucer snow sled). Geek Girl power.

Good Morning!

*stares at calender* Dude, people, we are like, 4 weeks and counting until this baby comes.

I still have a lot of shopping and prep that needs to be done. Guess I know what Mr. Kricket and I will be doing Saturday.

So, fyi, if I drop off the face of the internet around April 20th, you'll know why. I'll try to jump on quick sometime soon after the baby comes to let ya'll know how it went. :)

Anyway, enough about me and baby stuff. Let's talk about..... *fizzle and cracking noises in head, smoke coming from ears* ....

I'm going to go watch Stargate now. :D

Yay babies!!

And which Stargate? The movie, the TV shows?

wow cluttering up the cantina with dog talk - bad, cat. Maybe if you have any other suggestions or thoughts you can message me? haha this was long and rambly. Forgive.

Nah, people talk about cats in here all the time :D But yes, when I think of something, I'll PM you, and if there's anything you want to ask, don't hesitate to drop me a line :)

TV show, SG1 to be precise. Funny thing is I watched most of that series on Hulu shortly after Little Kricket was born and now that I found it on Netflix I'm watching it again. About half way through so far, maybe I'll be able to finish it this time.

Today, it turns out, is not Friday. Why does this keep happening?

Good morning, all! My brother and his wife had their baby last night, 8.5 pounds, which is pretty incredible since his wife is less than five feet tall and I think doesn't normally weigh much more than the kidlet. lol

Now prepare for epic multi-quoting.

:D

I love your avi, Tiffers!

Isn't it? I would so do that to my cats if I had a Hello Kitty outfit for them. Luckily for them (and for me, because I don't like to be bit), I don't.

There must be, I know I saw two beautiful males on the Sea Point promenade about a decade ago... (yep, they're *that* common here, lol).

They're such pretty dogs.

Just the worlds in my head....

The worlds in your head totally qualify you. Besides. We're your friends, and our geekiness rubs off on you whether you like it or not. It's like a nice, very contagious rash among friends.

Can you tell I'm a dog nut? Can you? :D

Hey, you never know who will happen by and benefit from the information. :)

This is quite possibly the best thing ever. :D

I rather enjoy all the baby talk at the Cantina today.

Speaking of babies, a woman at the PT yesterday had her two year old with her. He's so flipping cute I wanted to steal him, even though last time I was there he turned off my timer so I had to do extra squats.

:scared: I fear big babies.

As all women should, imo.

Is this kinda like Big Macs?

You know, once in a while and it's "Wow! This is really good!" but too often and it's "This is bleh."

pretty much. Sometimes it is nice, but we did have to have a talk about him smothering me. It's okay now. :D

Me too! Little Kricket was big, a little over 7lbs. But Baby Kricket looks like he's going to stay on the small side, for which I am eternally grateful. I never want to have a repeat of 24+ hours of labor and 2.5 hours of pushing. *shudders*

My oldest boy was eight pounds when born; 18 hours of labor. My other three were all within an ounce of 6 pounds.

Labor is never fun, regardless of baby size. I had one baby in half an hour, so fast that they didn't have time to give me medications. STILL hurt, regardless of how fast it went.

Well my first was 8.5 lb and my younger 8.11. I didn't have a hard labor on either one. In fact. Got the the hospital with my youngest at a little after 7 and had him by 8:20. (yes I had been in labor all day but wasn't bad until that evening)
Oldest I had to be induced and had back labor -- that hurts like a MF. But once things got going only took less than an hour.

Yes I count myself very lucky. Poor girl in the other room screamed for about 4 hours with hers (youngest)
