Does Prejean support the repeal of DOMA? Obama does. He has said personally that he believes marriage is between a man and a woman. That's exactly what several legislators I know believed, and they had no problem voting to keep gay marriage legal here in Massachusetts. It's a separation of church and state issue. Obama has said leave it to the states. And I've not seen him representing NOM, the organization responsible for that "Gathering Storm" tripe.I find it interesting that she expressed the same views that Obama seems to hold regarding gay marriage, but he hasn't been attacked for those views.
He's the one who can have an effect on legislation, not Miss Runner up!
And gay rights activists have challenged Obama on his position, and continue to. As far as gay marriage is concerned, if he just stays out of the way while we fight state by state, it's a good thing.
If Prejean loses her crown, and I don't know that she will, it's because she lied about suggestive photos and violated the terms of her contract by missing appearances and representing an organization without permission from the pageant's governing body. She'll cry about it being because of her beliefs and she and NOM will prepetuate the myth of her martyrhood. But she signed a contract and is not abiding by its terms.
