Last day of the four-day Jubilee weekend here in the UK.

Is that still going on? *Groans* Doesn't the queen know that there's a bus service? And that thing the other day, you can get a river bus as well, I know, I've seen them. *Hides from interwebz*

Although the highlight of my weekend so fr has to be Grace Jones' dress from yesterday. If anyone hasn't seen it, it's worth hunting down. You wouldn't think she's 64, hope I look that good.

Good morning friends!

Mr. K has made up for yesterday's stupidity by letting me sleep in today and by doing what I told him to do. My faith has been restored. :)

Also I think I finally figured out the secret formula to get Baby K to do most of his sleeping at night. Happy day :)

Now I get to figure out a good time to work out in the morning. Gotta loose about 10 pounds of this baby weight. My hips should not be as wide as my husband's. :(

And now to go work on some editing. :)
Looks like I've gotten about 37% of this MS edited. And about 17% of that happened this past week. I'm pretty proud of my self.

Hi guys!

I'm on a writing break, so I can come be distracted by AW a little. hehehe

How are you all doing?

... Amongst others I will be using my godlike authorial powers and removing the protag's younger brother by merging him with her youngest sister.

...

Okay, I can see this working.

Hello folks!

And Morning. Once again I can't open Bos' utube link. Dire. How do I fix this, aside from sheering Bos and stuffing him in the raptor nest?

Good morning Cantina.

Yesterday I had to escort a homeless guy out of the Mental Health Clinic. He wasn't supposed to be there. No appointment. Was just sitting in the waiting room and napping. Told me he was waiting for his mom to pick him up at 4:30 that afternoon. It was about noon when I talked to him. Ended up nicely escorting him to the elevators and to the 1st floor lobby waiting room (the clinic is on the 3rd floor). He was nice about it. I told him there was a couch he could stretch out in. He was quite happy about that prospect.

He was also wearing a raggedy sweatshirt inside out and had his arms tucked inside the main body of the sweatshirt so the sleeves flopped around as if he were armless.

Prior to that, while checking in on the phone with the main security station about the man in question, my supervisor noted, "And B. (the security services manager) said if he (the homeless guy) gives you any trouble, you can trounce him. Wait--no. No. Not that. [chuckling in the background] B. is denying everything. Just escort him downstairs."

Kid comes down at a quarter to nine saying he's hungry, I give him something simple to keep his stomach content (we had a light dinner, so at least this time it makes a little sense -- most of the time it's seemingly random), and the next thing I know he's almost shouting with glee that his tooth came out.

His first lost tooth. This almost feels as much a rite of passage for me as a parent as for him...and I haven't been able to get to the bank yet. Much less decide what denomination of coinage to surprise him with.

Helloooo guys.

I got divebombed by a hummingbird! Refilling the feeder requires standing in a high-traffic area, lol. Tore a huge hole in my hood, but neither s/he nor I came away with any injuries.

Well, I bet there was some injured pride for the bird. :D

And guess who finally spat out that damn salivary gland stone? Score! Now I can quit eating lemons whole. If anyone needs me, I'll be in the snatch patch "celebrating". ;)

They still make those?

Huh.

I'm not sure they still mint them, but they're still available at banks from time to time.

I have one in my change purse at the moment.

ETA: Yes, they still mint them, sez the US Mint web page.

Finally got my competition results back. I didn't win anything. Boo. What's worse is. I skimmed through the winning entries, and I reckon mine was better. Huh!

Okay, I can see this working.

I've had a writing break for most of this year, so that needs to change. Thanks, that character was a bit of a spare part anyway.

I've decided to concentrate on getting Partings and Greetings finished and out of the house - I've always found that novel easier to write than The Plague Years, which was and is like pulling teeth.

I also need to sort out the will-they-won't-they which dominates most of the last third of the novel, and I think I've found a way which works. ;)

Ever stare at a nice blank blog post and suddenly have the thoughts fly right out of your head? Yeah, it's one of those mornings. It does not help that most of those thoughts are related to coming across some reviews of some seriously disturbing books, and trying to figure out if I'm just that clueless on one of the current trends or if it even IS a trend (and if so nfebioprq3[0wau9joisndjibanjkirejg *head fall on keyboard*)

Maybe I should go back to the wacky dream-fueled idea this morning about the penguin crew revolt on board a dirigible and the damsel who creates distress for her would-be rescuers...but I dunno that I'm in the right mood for that either.

Oh, and about 100 pages into Bitterblue, and there's a secondary character who wants to create a dictionary. Of course this would be right after I spent a semester learning about lexicography...:evil
