Hmmm...I was thinking the pies I was providing around here were the fruit or pecan filled open top or lattice top variety.

Blessings,

We like all kinds of pies.

I just happened to get some small fried fruit pies at the grocery store this morning.

For people who want to know what my cat looks like, this avie is real close.

Minus the fish.

But that expression? Oh yeah.

Hey, everyone! Just popped in to say hi. It's been a very busy past couple of days--and emotional ones at that. Andrew's high school put on something called Every 15 Minutes, designed to prevent drunk driving. I was asked to read the letter I wrote to him in front of the junior and senior classes. They picked this time of year to do it with prom coming up this Saturday. The whole thing has left me just drained. So many feelings.

Pass the pie!

Here's the pie, and a :Hug2: for good measure. That sounds wrenching!

I remember when my high school did Every 15 Minutes. Hugs for McLesh!

I could cheer you guys up with the humiliating incident that just occurred with my query letter journey, if anyone's interested

Sure, Angel, go ahead. Most of us have some less than fun query experiences.

:hi: and pie (several, so that McLesh can have as much as she needs).

Blessings,

Siri Kirpal

So, I was getting my letter ready to send to another agent, when my finger accidentally bumped the send button before it was ready! The email wasn't titled or personalized in any way.

I've heard that some agents won't even open an email unless it's titled very specifically (like: "Title - Author - Genre" or some such) so there's a good chance that you could re-send it with proper formatting and they won't even notice it was you who made the mistake.

Maybe?

Thanks, everyone! I did have a pie. Pizza, that is. :)

So many emotions wrapped up into this event, I can't even begin to describe it. I'm going to bed soon.

Angel Faerie: Ah, don't worry about it. Just re-send with a note saying what happened. One word of advice I have: Agents are people just like us. Don't be afraid to treat them as fellow humans! :D

I think we've all done something like that, angel. I wouldn't worry about it. Mclesh is right - agents are hoomins too, and they make mistakes just like any of the rest of us.

Apart from me, because I'm a muppet.

ROAR :D

Good morning, house of....fried pies!!!

I've never heard of a fried pie. But it sounds amazing. The only 'fried' pastry I've ever come across is that Indian wonder known as a samoosa. Anyone had those?

(Of course, now I'm craving them. Thanks a lot, people! :()

I looked up that Every 15 Minutes. Ohmigosh! I get why McLesh felt that way. But what an excellent idea for high schools. So necessary. I wish we had something like that here, especially since the legal drinking age in SA is 18!

Did you hear about the Italian chef?

He pasta way. :hooray:

:Trophy:

Awesome! Just totally awesome!!

The legal age for all "adult" things is 18 here in Australia. Drinking, smoking, gambling, voting, sexual stuff... As soon as you're 18, you can do all of it.

Of course, a lot of people do all that (apart from voting) before they're 18 anyway.
