A Little Help Please....I know my grandfather's first name was William, probably given or chose the last name of Cohen on Ellis Island (arrive in 1905). Born on or about February 27, 1887 (86-89). From Rumania (as spelled on document), language was yiddish.

I'm not getting any hits on the Ellis Island Registry. Where in Romania might I go for records, or have they all been lost? I know it was very strange there at the time, name changes, religion changes, etc.. Would appreciate any direction for me to do a record's search. I know nothing about my family on my father's side prior to my grandparents. It's only supposition that he was from Transylvania. Biggest problem is that I don't have a positive last name identification before he married.

Any help would be appreciated.

He married my grandmother in the U.S. Would that still help? My brother works for the archives and is doing some digging, but there are over a million records to search through (though technology helps). I'll tell him about the Bucharest Archives. Sounds like a good place to begin. Thanks.

Si eu ma bucur, in general in lumea asta anglofona (eu stiu de RPGs mai mult, ca astea sunt pasiunea mea) nu prea gasesti romani...

Eu am nimerit aici recomandata de un pirat american (scriitor si ceea ce ei numesc reenactor - n-am traducere la miezul noptii). In romana am scris destule povestiri, mai mult istorice. In engleza... doar interactive (RPG).

Hello, Edy! In ce perioade se petrec povestirile tale? Eu am una din vremea vikingilor, una din vremea lui Napoleon, una cam in acelasi timp dar care nu are treaba cu el (1790 - 1800), si mai am trei mai "din vremea noastra".

Am 2 romane complete pana acuma - unul in secolul 14 (anul 1313) si unul in secolul 16. Eu sunt mare fan al perioadei medievale si specialitatea mea e istorie militara.
