Hey! My name's Coy. I'm a teacher, an associate professor of history at a community college in my home state of Kentucky. I love to write. I've been at it for 10 years now, since I was 17. Mainly I write horror stories and westerns. In the last two years I've been focusing on writing novels rather than short stories (I did my 1 million words of short stories first like Mr. Bradbury suggested haha). I just submitted a horror manuscript to Samhain publishing. I'm here to learn and learn and learn. Wonderful to be a part of the site and I can't wait to join the discussions! Best to all of you.

Welcome, Coy! I'm new myself, and I haven't read many horror studies or westerns, but that sounds great. Congratulations on submitting the manuscript!

Take a wander around the various forums, there's lots to see and lots to learn, and even some fun threads too. Come along and pop on over to the Traditional Irish Pub (at the top of the Newbie forum) and say hi, there's plenty of friendly faces that you can chat with and lots of banter. There's also the Question of the Day threads at the top of the Newbie forum where you can answer random questions.

Don't forget to read the newbie guide, and if you want to know what all the buttons mean check out this thread.
