That I Ching reading stuck with me. I get a lot from Tarot and pendulums, too.

My third R from Clarkesworld came in today. This one had a friendly PS. I choose to be encouraged. ]

That friendly PS is promising from Clarkesworld!

I Ching works well for me, as does Tarot. I can skew my pendulum unfortunately.

41-day personal from BCS, and a quick 25-day 2nd round R from Stupefying Stories, with a "good, but not irresistible."

92-day R from Writers of the Future, this time with an HM. I'll get you someday, first place! Or write, trying!

Ha! Congrats on the HM, though (and 41-days at BCS sounds like it was held there, too). Better luck next time on both!

Thank ya kindly. Although BCS was running slow at the time, it was answered by the EIC, so maybe you're right. I already got my next story subbed to WotF. :D

Good you're aware. I was a brat with the ouija board as a kid.

Form R today from one of my favorite antho editors. It's closed, so enough said.

Have four stories still out, another ready to go, #6 close and wrote a new one this week.

Thanks Fihr. :)

I had a story about super-powered mutants that I thought would be a shoe-in at This Mutant Life, an anthology for super-powered people. No go! Nice 4-day personal (or very cleverly worded form), though, explaining it was just the wrong fit.

137-day form rejection from Tin House. And now the reading period is closed so I can't send them anything else yet. I think Tin House is a really hard place to get into, considering they just published a new short story by Stephen King.

4 days to an R from Post Scripts to Darkness 5. They liked it, it was just too short for them. They asked for something else and I already sent them a longer piece.

I thought I'd come to terms with waiting, but it turns out Clarkesworld has spoiled me forever. I'm like "what? 3 days and no rejection yet? *refresh*refresh*refresh*"...
Oh, the paranoia.
Sorry for the recent rejections, everyone! And congrats on the HM, Marzioli :)

Very disheartening form rejection today. And a snobby one, at that.

"We encourage all rejected writers to submit again when they have improved their craft. In the meantime, if you have not already, you can subscribe to [our magazine] here."

Whatever happened to "not right for us at this time"? Jeeze.

Yeah, that's kind of ridiculous.

If they can write, they can understand tone, and must know they are insulting every writer they reject, even if the story is just the wrong fit! I wonder if this will improve their subscription rate?

So sorry about the Rs. Great mags though. If you don't mind my asking, how far out were you on the Glimmer Train?
