Well, I'm new to this forum anyway. Less new to the planet at large.

I'm retired Navy, done a lot of other stuff, and did a lot of writing here and there, small town newspaper reporter, stuff like that. I've also written stories and screenplays, but never sold or published any fiction.

I wrote a mystery novel back in the 90s and then didn't do anything with it. Last fall I remembered it and dug it out of the filing cabinet and decided it wasn't half bad. So I published it at Smashwords. It's called Died on the Vine, you can look it up. Now I'm working on a sequel, Bidding on Death.

And I started a blog, because They say you should blog if you're writing, so there it is.

If you go back to the beginning of my blog, you'll find the story of 'How I wrote a book and then lost it for over a decade'.

I also post occasional pictures of cats and dogs, because they're mine and it's my blog, so heck.

Joyce

Take some time and read the Newbie Guide and the Stickies found
at the top of Forum pages. They are your best guide to learning about
Absolute Write.

Don’t forget to read the FAQ regarding posting pictures at AW.

Members who want to start a thread in Share Your Work to have work critiqued need
50 posts. Don’t make a mad dash to reach your 50 posts. Take some time to greet fellow newbies,
critique other members’ works, or join a discussion.

Welcome to AW. Hope you enjoy your stay with us.
How do you like your popcorn?

If you go to the bottom of the page to the 'forum jump' you can scroll down and find all the areas of this place. After you post 50 posts you can use the SYW areas to get help there. The password for some of the areas is…..vista. A word to the wise, it would be a good idea to participate first in helping others before you think about posting your own work. After you have been around here for awhile, then post something of your own for help. Good luck.

Uhh.... what are the 'SYW areas'?
Share Your Work- they're kinda hard to find, and we new peeps can't post our own work until we have 50 posts, but we can visit them and make helpful comments and such. It's a great place to learn even by lurking.

Also, welcome from a fellow Virginian. Beautiful weather here, huh?
