Krakens are like parrots. They love spicey food but don't feel the burn.

have I mentioned that I have a very large, condensation pebbled cardboard cup of diet soda at my left hand?

No?

I thought for sure I had mentioned it.

*sips thoughtfully on straw*

Huh. *drinks hot water from keg cup* Indeed?

Krakens are like parrots.

That is what I read, and for a moment I thought our kraken-keeping ways were going to result in extraordinarily expensive food bills.

Dire.

Although if we had some budgies by the lake, they'd breed almost like smibbles...

It's the belgian spelling, of course.

Like, you know, Sara is the portuguese spelling of Sara. :D

Olá Sara. Eu espero que você está tendo uma boa noite. Como é o meu Português?

Dude.

If you had any idea how frustrated I've been with trying to learn that damned language, you would understand when I say: So not fair.

Bing Translator, helping people fake fluency since... well, probably at least a couple years.

I don't think that's going to work next August.

"Excuse me, I KNOW you don't understand me, but could you type everything you just said into the Search window?

"That's right... Ee-yoo eh-speer-oh..."

A) but it is! It's goddamned in the old fashioned sense -- damned by the gods of my memory and ability to speak for all eternity. I STILL have no idea how to pronounce the "lh" consonant pair yet, and when I get back from vacation, I shudder to think about how much refresh work I'll have to do. :Headbang:

B) ... well, yeah, maybe you're right.

Aww, you two are so nauseatingly sweet I'm gonna have to buy some barf bags.

Is Brazilian and European sort of like American and British English or are the changes more intense?

I've already had this convo with Psycho, but what is up with calling supper 'tea'? Tea is a drink, not a meal time.

Perhaps we should strike back by referring to "daytime" as "coffee."

PS. What's up with calling dinner 'supper'? :D

It's very similar to US English vs. UK English: some words are different and the accent is different too.

Supper, I'd dare to say, is an American Southern-ism. You don't ask why. It just ... is.
