A word processor?

Why does it feel like we've all gone retro here lately?

:D

Dude. This thing is awesome. Not only is it doing fantabulous things for my wordcount, but when I load it into my scrivener doc, I get to watch it retype everything SUPER FAST.

What more could you want?

Me: *looks up* If that's your idea of a good use of time, then you are correct, I am a terrible influence on this place.

There's so much WTF in this story that I can't even respond properly.

Considering they are glorified typewriters in the age of flatscreen pads, yeah, I'd call them retro.

I mean, they date back to the 80's for pity's sake. That's *ancient* by today's tech.

:D

Yes. MrBugz looked at it and said, "I hope you like it because I don't think the 1980's will take it back."

The jerk. *hugs Alphie*

What's new, Cantina?

It's been a good-news day.

I hope it's kicking off a good-news week. *fingers crossed*

Yay for good news!

For the record, I invited Guy for dinner, which is the only reason it sounds like a date. He hasnt txted me back either way though.

No specifics, but I'll say I got a very cool phone call from NYC today.

I will sacrifice a celeraic to the good news fairies for you.

Add animal corpses?

Hm, good point. And can do.

Mind you, corpses are not why I went to vet school...

had an amazing day. beautiful 80 degree weather and spent the day with my husband. bought 60 trees for under $200 to plant around the house and pond. worked on a fifth draft of my query and even managed to write a bunch of nonsense that might turn into something later down the line.

I just had a 70% dark chocolate Kit Kat. Imported from Canada.

It was quite fine.

I'm going to regret having the specialty chocolate shop near me, methinks.

And then, there's this.

shut up, Junely! Just shut your mouth, and maybe none of them will know you recognize those things!

Yes. MrBugz looked at it and said, "I hope you like it because I don't think the 1980's will take it back."

 I actually screamed laughter when I read that. Your husband is the coolest!

Yeah, no kidding. Been there, done that, got the tooth decay to prove it.

Has that cat passed on? Cause I swear I got some form of reincarnation of said cat disposition in my little orange guy. I loves him but he is constantly piddling on the curtains.

(Oh, look. Finally reached 500 posts...)

Yes, the cat has passed on. An I definitely would not be surprised if that cat was reincarnated. She built up some seriously bad Karma. I fear she'll be around in some form for quite a long, long time.

Me: *sitting at desk, working*

Boss: You're a bad influence here.

Me: *looks up, considers responding, quashes instinct to unleash hell* Oh. *continues working*

Boss: You want to know why?

Me: *shakes head, continues working*

Boss: You said that we shouldn't work on Friday.

Me: Incorrect. I said that we couldn't work on Friday because corporate is migrating servers and we won't have access to any systems.

Boss: Oh, yeah? Well, we can totally do [insert industry-specific action #1].

Me: No. That requires system access.

Boss: Well, then [insert industry-specific action #2-7 and 7b].

Me: All require system access.

Boss: Then we can take all the files out of file cabinet A, put them in boxes, take all the files out file cabinet B, put those in file cabinet A, then put the boxed files in file cabinet B. What do you think about that?

Me: *looks up* If that's your idea of a good use of time, then you are correct, I am a terrible influence on this place.

Um, are you sure you are Hillz and not Scott Adams? That sounds dangerously close to something he'd be involved in.

Decades we'd like to forget ever happened.
70s for fasion.
80s for tech and hair.

No specifics, but I'll say I got a very cool phone call from NYC today.
Until it's official, just a tiny YAY! I'm saving up for a big one for you.

*dons helmet. basejumps off grand staircase*

With or without 'chute failure, this is a dramatic way to go. Personally, I'm hoping for without, but if not, the cantina will be talking about it for years. I promise.

Good morning Cantina, I see everyone is doing well.
