I picked up this book because i was on old VI Warshawski fan back in the day.
I hadn't seen Sara Paretsky's name on the cover of a book in a while and this one is entirely different than her warshawski series.
I'm about a third of the way into it. I found it trudged along a little slowly in the beginning but it has really turned out to be a decent read so far. Has anyone else checked this out and if so what do you think?
She really paints a vivid picture of small town Kansas to me. Mind you I have never been there, but her characters are very real to me, inparticular the very naive Susan who tackles huge projects with complete enthusiasm and then loses steam halfway through.
