One of their agents asked for my current ms and sent their standard agreement.
I searched all the usual places and can find no info on them, good or bad. They're a non-fiction house looking to branch into fiction.
Does anyone know anything? I"m holding till I learn more.
(Although, holy crow, this is the first time I've received anything other than a form rejection. And I have read the horror stories here of agents who reject after we get our hopes up.)
Thanks, all.

They're one of the two main agencies for consumer technical books.

(ETA: I'm leaving this post so Medievalist's following post makes sense, but please disregard this one entirely; I was under the erroneous impression we were talking about a publisher.)
I'd add one caveat, though, which is that it's common for certain types of nonfiction publishers (especially for computer books and the like) to pay royalties on net. They may, when adding fiction, want to pay on net there, too. Carefully consider whether you want to agree to that.

The royalty isn't set by agents but by publishers.

::headdesk:: I feel really, really dumb. I can't believe I missed that very important tidbit of info. Argh. I'd like to think that brainfart was a result of my allergy meds putting me to sleep.Quote:
