How wonderful! Do you mind if I ask you about your meditation? If so, just ignore me. Do you try to clear your mind of everything, completely? Or do you meditate on something in particular?
I (try to) do both and I
suck at it.
I still try, though.
Sure I can help, I just got into Zen so at first you count your breaths in and out like this, one, two. You keep counting until you reach ten, but if a thought distracts you, you come back to 1 midway. Once you've done that for a good 15-20 minutes, you can count both in and out breaths as 1, until you reach 10. This time around it takes you twice as long. Once you
notice both breaths in and out, clearing your mind becomes so much easier. I was resting in bed as if I was sleeping because it was really late, and it's the most comfortable position. You can sit but you need special cushions for that, and the bed hurts a bit.
P.S. Any passing thought that distracts you, you can simply let pass non judgmentally. This is done so you don't think you have to force yourself to clear your mind.
You can also do the breathing while you're walking, that's called walking meditation.
I have a link to a free body scan, if you're interested. You basically rest in bed, and pay attention to each part of your body. At the end of it, you should be very sleepy.
and AC, I wish I had some wine, because I'm sure you have some nearby.
