I take it is not the Mandrill. :/

You are correct! The clue is not the Mandrill. It is in the last two words of the scramble. ;)

ETA: Word and a half, to be precise.

THINE ELLBOES / MAINDRILLOR PRECI CHILD

1. person / person
2. Both were used by others in a significant way
3. Strong clue in scramble (in the last word and a half)
4. Authors' subjects
5. Female / male
6. Try looking in the looking glass. If that doesn't work, try looking for a honey pot.

I got this far.

NILE RIVER / D RIVER / PAN-AMERICAN HIGHWAY / CHANDLER HIGHWAY

It doesn't look like the remaining scramble is Ebenezer Place.

Aha, Chandler Highway. Got it.

You got it Xelebes! The scrambles were the longest and shortest rivers and highways.

Let me congratulate you, Xelebes!

:Trophy:

And please reverse your decision not to present us with any more scrambles. We enjoy a challenge in this thread, no matter how bizarre.

TALL PERSONS / BOASTING POWERS / DUBAI FEATS / TERROR FLAKE WRITERME / JETWEE UHIFI

1. Let's keep with themes here. Similar theme.
2. In that sense, I've given you plenty of clues in the scramble what the theme is.

Either the theme is clear, or I'm way off base.

I've gotten this far, but something is wrong, because the remaining letters don't work:

BURJ KHALIFA /--------.------/AUSTIN TOROS /GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS / PEEWEE REESE

I'm messing up somewhere. :(

I know I'm not getting this right. I went for basketball players last time and got nowhere. Tall people? Short people? Short buildings? Arghh! :Headbang:

BURJ KHALIFA / -------- TOWERS / SEARS TOWER / EMPIRE STATE BUILDING /EIFFEL TOWER

The missing word is PETRONAS

Your play, Nymtoc... I never would've gotten any of the rest of this

You got it, PIAH! :Trophy:

I'd forgotten all about Petronas Towers, and the letters I had left over made no sense to me at all. Please go ahead and post a scramble, because I'm tired and bound for bed.

Good scramble, Xelebes. You get a hundred points for this one! :e2cheer:

BLUE / AGIGLER / CBYRYDE / METTT
- "wingmen", though they neither have wings, nor are men
- clues in first three sections are appropriate to the respective answers
- none of them were known for their dialogues... because they can't speak ;)

BINGO! Absolutely!!!

Clyde was Clint Eastwood's orangutan buddy in Every Which Way but Loose.

Excellent work, Albedo!
