That sounds like a great book, CLIFF! It sounds familiar, but I don't think I've read it.

It's hilarious. It's not set in Discworld like most of Pratchett's books, but it's all about the apocalypse in a sort of urban-fantasy Earth. I would definitely recommend it.

It's one of only a handful of adult books that I've ever read in a single day.

I have a question for you that isn't worth starting a thread in Tech Help about.

Does extra RAM increase the speed at which you can transfer files?

I just backed up some of my files onto my external hard drive, and it seemed to go a lot quicker than last time I did so... Those file names were flying by phenomenally fast! (I installed more RAM yesterday, if you recall. )

Yes, it would. Also, things like scans will run faster.

Talking of Pratchett, in one story he has an angry planetary 'terra-former' throw his Rolex down while creating the Pleistocene layer. "Well, that will give some future archaeologist a few sleepless nights."

Yep. And then it sends me an email to say that 'someone' mentioned me in a comment.

So I go check it out. And sure enough, someone did mention me in a comment.

I did go to bed eventually last night, but I had a rough night. Last time I saw the clock it was 2:40 am. I was like a zombie all day. So I came home and had to go to bed. Woke up at midnight. And now I'm still up at 4 am. Oh well. I am off tomorrow, so that is good.
