So over the weekend, I realized something was wrong with my virus protection. So I logged into mcaffee and tried to re-download it, because it seems like it wasn't installed properly.
I ended up nearly killing my laptop. I was getting a blue screen and could only log on in safe mode. And it would let me reconfigure to a week or month or year ago.
I ended up having to reset to factory settings. Now everything that was on here is gone. (Thankfully the book is safe.)
But I lost my microsoft windows! I have the free trial, but that won't last.
Any ideas?

How did you lose Windows? No CD? Did you trash the D partition the back-up's stored on if you have XP/Vista/7 too?

Pack up your computer. Take it to your nearest Best Buy and hand it over to the Geek Squad. It's obvious you can't do the work yourself so you'll have to pay someone who can.

Ah, if he means Office then he should've said that.
After viruses toasted my computer and I had to rebuild from scratch, Microsoft told me that my legit copy of Office Pro 07 wasn't legit and refused to register it again. So I downloaded Open Office and am content. Screw Microsoft.
