Where opinions have a distinct aroma.
A harder climb to reach such heights
without an escalator --
and Johnny rode it, knuckles white!
a harder climb to reach such heights
without putting up too much fight?
We'll see him again later.
A harder climb to reach such heights
without an escalator...

In the Castle, of course.
Without an escalator
the climb to you exhausts me.
I don't want to be a waiter
without an escalator.
Your meal will wait til later,
since sex with you sure isn't free
without an escalator.
The climb to you exhausts me.

the climb to you exhausts me,
your lofty pedestal lifts beyond the clouds;
such conceited pride, great agony,
the climb to you exhausts me.

O! for wings to fly away free!
such feathered suit deftly shrouds;
the climb to you exhausts me,
your lofty pedestal lifts beyond the clouds.

Your lofty pedestal lifts beyond the clouds.
To my surprise and ultimate dismay,
such forgotten dreams and death shrouds
your lofty pedestal lifts. Beyond the clouds
of your illusion, I see the restless crowds
closing in, whose hands you can not stay.
Your lofty pedestal lifts beyond the clouds
to my surprise, and ultimate dismay.

To my surprise and ultimate dismay,
memories of our affair had become
a nagging annoyance to her. Today,
to my surprise and ultimate dismay,
when we met again, I had thought she'd stay.
But old coffee is bitter - as (ho hum)
to my surprise and ultimate dismay,
memories of our affair had become.

When you get to the rough parts of the poem, please remember, it's only a game. :D

Memories of our affair had become
the subject of intense legal action.
Two hims, two hers, four lawyers dredging some
memories of… Our affair had become
division by half (it's a zero sum
when the lawyers leave only a fraction.)
Memories of our affair had become
the subject of intense legal action

the subject of intense legal action
shocked the public, who believed they had
something: "we the people" read the caption,
the subject of intense legal action;

government has become a self-serving contraption
and the hope of representation bad,
the subject of intense legal action
shocked the public, who believed they had

I openly admit this is a mess:

Shocked, the public (who believed they had
won some formerly unknown lottery)
waved their arms with misplaced desuetude -- sad,
shocked. The public, who believed they had
fair reason otherwise, were rather a tad
incensed and thus desperately
shocked the public. Who believed they had
won some formerly unknown lottery?

Where the dirty water has all been cleaned--Boston
Won some formerly unknown lottery
heretofore known as Colossus.
I methodically scratched and carefully
won some formerly unknown lottery.
What's won, the state takes away cheerfully,
and my wallet would not be plus
won. Some (formerly unknown) lottery!
heretofore known as Colossus.

heretofore known as Colussus,
your remains, scattered amiss;
once the tallest amonst us
your hollow shell, now, is crushed;
the end of war, you promised us,
meant as a memorial of bliss,
heretofore known as Colussus,
your remains scattered amiss

Your remains scattered amiss,
but we really meant you no harm.
I'm sure it was not as you'd wished,
your remains scattered. Amiss
I would be, to keep from you this,
but 'twas done while you were still warm.
Your remains scattered amiss,
but we really meant you no harm.

"but...", "we...", "really?" meant you no harm
other than to make a point clear,
and only intended to disarm --
but we really meant you no harm.
Our wit has always been our charm,
here a grin, and rarely a tear
but we really meant you no harm
other than to make a point... clear?

other than to make a point clear
you speak not to me
even though I hold you dear
other than to make a point clear
your poison tongue oh so near
it is not something I wish to see
other than to make a point clear
you speak not to me

You speak. Not to me--
to the others gathered--those you called.
If it were up to me, I would certainly flee.
You speak not to me.
I shouldn't have traveled here at your plea
and allowed you to curse until I bawled.
You! Speak! Not to me!
To the others gathered. Those you called.

To the others gathered, those you called
relatives were total strangers.
Unadorned, your body lay sprawled
to the others gathered. Those you called
comrades cried; their whimpers drawled
through tears as you, they remember
to the others gathered. Those you called
relatives were total strangers.

remember is a stretch, but I couldn't do better.

Relatives were total strangers
around the time I turned sixteen.
Filled with stories of life's dangers,
relatives were. Total strangers,
they would say slow down, and savior
childhood; just take the time to dream.
Relatives were total strangers
around the time I turned sixteen.

around the time I turned sixteen
desire awoke;
childhood and growing up, I was confused between
around the time, I turned sixteen;
as a child, I was still yet seen
my innocence, a yoke
around the time I turned sixteen,
desire awoke

desire awoke
fragile petals cast their scent
a gentle cry when tender stroke
desire awoke
and then she spoke
her eyes, like mirrors bent,
desire awoke
fragile petals, cast their scent

In the Castle, of course.
My mother laid her son to rest.
On a cold slab of November
she shivered, and passed the test.
My mother laid her son to rest--
put aside who she liked the best.
Her sins are hard to remember.
My mother laid her son to rest
on a cold slab of November.

On a cold slab of November
they came for the bodies at night
a gruesome, undignified sight

On a cold slab of November
lie captives, who cannot continue their fight

Who questions the victors their right?
on a cold slab of November.

They came for the bodies at night

(a rewrite of Arabian Night.)

They came for the bodies at night
without a warning, without fail.
You could set your watch to the time
they came, for the bodies at night
by day break would be gone alright...
I tried to secure mine with nails.
They came for the bodies, at night
without a warning; without fail.

Without a warning -- without fail
the rain falls, come cloud or clear sky.
Just like when Rudy went to jail
without a warning; without fail,
without due cause. No chance to bail
your pal out; you'll have to get by
without. A warning without fail.
The rain falls, come cloud or clear sky.

The rain falls, come cloud or clear sky;
without the dress of mourning,
how would life retry?
The rain falls, come cloud or clear sky.

though over loss we often sigh
hope is forever returning,
the rain falls; come! cloud or clear sky
without the dress of mourning
