Too many stories, not enough time spent on any of them. You don't get a chance to get too emotionally invested in any of them, because they're simply not on screen long enough.

The first time I spent Christmas with my husband (then boyfriend) and his family his mom plugged in a movie they watched every year on Christmas day. I was expecting some thing warm and fuzzy but Scar Face came on the screen. I sunk down in the couch wondering what I was getting myself into. The next year we went to go see Heat then Casino. I vowed to never spend another Christmas with these blood thirsty vampires again.

I made sure we had Children by the following Christmas so I wouldn't have to watch any more blood shed on Christmas day. I turned my husband on to Home Alone, Home For The Holidays and The Grinch.

We still laugh about his family's anual Holiday movie and what I thought.
