One of the most difficult things I've faced with my current WIP is my protagonist. Trying to decide who she is, and how to shape her, portray her, and how exactly she sees the world. A nice little reminder that perfect is for suckers, and I just need to let her find her voice, and let her be who she is, and say it like she wants to say it.

I was lucky enough to host Laura Lam, who I think posts here sometimes, on magicians in her world today.

Have also been running a 2014 preview theme week on YA Contemporary with posts from Julie Murphy on the books she's most looking forward to and Dahlia Adler and Francesca Zappia on writing YA contemporary books.

Today I blogged about ignoring writing advice. Just Write It.
