My power went off for just one minute a little while ago . . . which means I now have half a dozen digital clocks flashed. I've gotten to where I don't reset most of them. The answering machine, stove, microwave, and other clocks can just keep the wrong time as far as I'm concerned.

I really don't care what time the microwave thinks it is.

Resetting the answering machine is the worst. If I haven't done it in a while I have to get the little manual out to remember how to do it. So . . . I never do it! :)

That's another clock I don't reset, the coffeemaker.

After tomorrow our highs are suppose to be in the 80s for the next several days. Woo hoo! For August I'll take it.

That sounds almost...glacial, AC. LOL

We may cool down into the 90's for a few days. Anything is better than the blast furnace we've had for so long this summer!

Ugh. I just had some really awful coffee... Yuck.

Every so often, we get a weird taste in our water. Apparently making coffee with said water results in blech. Had to pour half of it down the sink.

Hi Syn :hi: Might be a good time to visit Gail in Jo'berg! According to a recent post, it was snowing there (yesterday?). I can tell you for sure that she is a great host and you already know she is super company.

So pack your bags, get ready to go and leave on a jet plane...

Hi Syn!

My coffee maker uses a water filter -- it really does improve the taste.

Do you have a Brita or a Pur filter? You could use filtered water instead of plain tap water in your coffee maker. That's what my parents do.

(Hmmm. Guess we're an entire family of fussbudgets! :D )

We had August in June, now we're having June in August. Highs in the 80s would be more typical of June.

I don't want to see 109 on the thermometer again. Ever.

Don't have any of that...

We have an espresso maker, which hasn't been used in a while. (It got packed away when mum's friend did the first half of a kitchen renovation, and it hasn't been brought back out yet.) Usually, we use the kettle and instant coffee.

It's not as good, but it's simple. A spoonful of sugar, a spoonful of coffee (in a cup), add boiling water, add milk.

And we do have a water filter tap... That's where the foul water came from last time. We had the filter changed, and the problem was still there. So it must be the water itself... Adelaide is renowned for having shit water, anyway.

But today's bad coffee wasn't the fault of the water, I think...

I just had a mouthful of milk. Ewww! It tasted funky, and not in a good way.

So I checked the date on it. Today's date. So probably not all the way off, but not in good shape...

So I'm going to have to go out to the shops and buy milk.

I can still taste the milk... Yuck.

Cliff, you put milk in tea, not coffee. For coffee, you use coffee creamer.
I find that filling the coffee pot the night before (or the kettle) and letting it sit over night helps neutralize the icky taste. San Diego has terribly hard water. Bleahhhh.
