same here, and i really wanted to go to the park. I need swing time... but that damn rain!

Today has been one of those horrible mornings. 1) barely slept, because I stupidly decided to watch like 5 episodes of Buffy last night (I'm re-watching from the beginning) 2) Forgot my keys this morning so that meant no car... which meant no coffee... 3)I'm at work with NO COFFEE!!! How am i going to survive?

Here, there, everywhere.
*sigh* I LOVE those days. They don't happen often enough.

I was "pretty upset" at the whole situation. Arriving on time - who has heard of such a ridiculous thing? :D

Let's just hope the message sinks in this time.

*cough* SLACKER *cough* :D

Love you, Sparkle Pony!

:D

Yeah, yeah, yeah. :D

You guys want to know the amazing conversation I had with my professor today?

Me: Is the concentration of OH .14?
Now any logical person would say Yes or no... What the fuck does he respond with.
Him: Weeeeeellllll, not necessarily.
Me: So no? What is it then? .07? That doesn't make sense.
Him: Your not understanding this.
Partner: No we get this.... but...
Him: (in condescending voice)Well Ally seems to be having a hard time understanding this so lets go back and catch her up. (points to my paper) How many OH's are there?"
Me: (ready to lose it) Two. So wouldnt the answer therefore be .14?
Him: What would be the concentration of just one of them?
Me: .07!
Him: Sooo two would be?"
Me: (as i literally brake my pencil i was squeezing it so tight) .14.
Him: exactly.

Why do i even bother anymore?

Geez what a jerk.

How much longer do you have to put up with this?

Could you maybe have your partners ask the questions or would he still dish out the moronacy with both hands?

Well, no. Any logical person might be, but given that he's a teacher, Allie, and being one of them myself, we generally don't hand out yes/no answers when we can walk the student through it.

That said, the rest of the conversation should have gone like this:

Him: What would be the concentration of just one of them?
Me: .07
Him: (points to my paper) How many OH's are there?"
Me: Two. So wouldnt the answer therefore be .14?

And *this* would be the point you'd get a "yes."

But only after walking you through it, and being sure you understood the rationale behind it. Which, in his defense, I think he was trying to do.

Only he was being a condescending prick about it. For which there is no defense.

One of my first projects passed a milestone today - an actual physical test on the shop floor by someone who'd never built one of this particular type of assembly before. There were 2 minor problems (replace 2 instances of "flathead screw" with panhead screw) and a couple of nuances (highlighting several important portions of the documentation), but aside from that a complete success.

This makes me look good, enhances my usefulness to the company, and overall makes it look like I halfway know what I'm doing.

:)

I gave my friend Erika my mother's old mink stole tonight too. She doesn't have anything like it and couldn't afford to buy that kind of thing on her own, if she even thought about it.

It was either that or food - and I can't afford to do lunch until late next week or early the week after.

Up at the house.
good late evening...took Mrs. Bluntforcetrauma to the airport this morning. She's visiting her mother in Oklahoma, then I fly out tomorrow and meet her in Austin to close on some business. I had forgotten what an empty house feels like--and I sure can't sleep in that bed without her...and it was pointless to eat supper at the table.

Anyhoot, I'm done bitchin' and moanin'--for now...
