Howdy folks. Glad to be here. I've been reading over the forum for a few days now, to include the newbie rules.

I recently (within the last year) picked up writing again. My claim to fame is being accused of plagiarism in the 7th grade for a short story I did. I guess the teachers didn't believe I could write decently because I had an F in English at the time.

I'm 26 now and I've been married for 7 years to a Canadian. We met on a writing forum when we were still teenagers and it turned out she was only a 5 hour trip to visit.

Anyway, I guess I write in fantasy/sci fi but anything can happen. I'm active duty in the Marines so sometimes I'm spotty on attendance. I would like to offer my critiques and beta reading once I get a hang for the customs/courtesies here.

You'll love it here, i'm sure. There is a ton of great writing info, plus an active community of writers at all stages of their writing journeys (from aspiring to award-winning). AW is, imo, the best writing place on the net, bar none. As you would've read already, the most important rule here is 'Respect Your Fellow Writer.' That's one of the reasons these forums thrive. I wasn't directly accused of plagiarism, but a few times in the eighth grade and high school I've had to produced drafts and give writing samples to new teachers. It's kind of a compliment.

Don't know about marines, but when I was in the army, spotty attendance was called AWOL :D
