Check your shoes, I stepped in some whatsit

I just wanted to say hello, so, "Hello!" I recently graduated from college, and am working on teacher certification to get into teaching high school English.

I like to write, but I'm always self-conscious about it and I don't really feel like I can completely trust my acquaintances because they either 1) are too close friends or 2) don't really know anything about writing anyways. I'm hoping that I can get some good constructive feedback here, and maybe I can offer some as well.

I'll go ahead and admit that I'm often not very good with keeping up with message boards like this, but I'm hoping I'll get drawn into this one, unlike any of the others I've been a part of.

In any event, thanks for having me. Let's get to writing, eh?

Here's a newbie question: The sticky threads at the top (How'd you find this forum, Jed's Super-Dooper... etc) won't open. I click, and I just get a blank white screen. Any ideas?
