So, heard from The Agent:

Round 2 was unsuccessful. He's given me notes based on editor feedback and another read from him. More worldbuilding, upping the live story subplot, and altering the Holocaust VR game scenes.

His final comment: This is a tough job, but I know you can do it.

Sorry to hear that. But at least you got some positive and hopefully useful info.

Best of luck.

But I know you can do it, too!

You can totally do it, Lily. Over the course of the last few years, I've become convinced that you have a warrior's heart.

(I mean, your heart is like that of a warrior. I don't suspect that you illegally acquired and are preserving the heart of a warrior.)

Good luck and good news everywhere. You are all so inspiring.
Don't laugh at me y'all but I finally took the plunge and tried
to do a facebook page for all my writing stuff. (It took me
like 2 hours to figure it out...barely.) But we're supposed to have
like presence or something right? Ack. So three hundred years behind. I probably could've written two chapters at least in the time it took me to do a profile pic. ha ha...
Anyway, hi everyone. :] That's what's going on here.

Lol, Noompsy, I still don't have facebook.

I've just realised that we haven't had dancing bananas here in the thread for a long time.
So, in a bid to lure some good news to Hell, I'm going to post a row of dancing bananas.
Here goes::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

*eagerly awaits good news*

Yay Hillary!!!
Lily, relax, you're a professional ;)
Noomps, know what you mean. All of this social media is just wearing me out. And I've noticed quite a few agents are no longer blogging. Hopefully it's run its course b/c it's exhausting for someone who just wants to hide under her pretty rock and write.

Social networking and promo has really taken its toll on me. I've been spending hours a day for the last year pushing my books. I've got to slow down a bit and write some new material. Thing is, I get all self-loathing for abandoning my titles and letting their rank rise. It's a tough habit to break, especially when you're used to hawk-eyeing all your e-tailers and Amazon rank.

I hear you. I have two blogs (one for writing, one for real estate), and two websites to maintain, plus Twitter and FB. It's exhausting, and I'm not sure that any of the ones I do on publishing actually sell any books.

Peggy, folks keep telling me not to market to writers, because they're not going to buy my books. I resisted this line of reasoning for a long time, but now I'm starting to come around.

Speaking of blogs, I'm working on my tour now. I'm so grateful to the wonderful bloggers who are hosting me, but my eyes are about to bleed from staring at my computer for so long. One day I hope to be so amazeballs successful that I never have to blog again! lol.

It's a rule of thumb for crime fiction conferences, and conferences in general -- the ones aimed at aspiring writers, you don't sell books. The reader-oriented conferences are much likelier to result in sales.
