Writing's role in your life

For me, writing is about understanding. I don't write so my audience will understand; I write so I will understand.

I earn a living with writing, but I also derive balance from it too. It's the times when I can't write or I simply don't have the time to write that I feel most out of control.

An entertaining hobby. I enjoy it when I'm doing it, and I think about it when I'm not.

I have decided to write another book to take my mind off the other book I just finished. Yes, I have a problem. I keep my mac by the bed so I can write down things that come to me in the middle of the night. I get these great idea's at 3 am. If I don't write them down immediately, I forget them.
Beat that!

But I do it for the love of writing. I have been writing since I was 10. The middle of the night thing only since I turned 40.
