Well, hell, mario, how're we going to make a buck if we can't peddle your exquisite personal services?

Me and Mr. Maryn just tag-teamed the driveway, where we had about ten inches of snow with more coming down, in fairly high winds. Luckily, it's quite cold so the snow is light. It's weird to be sweating inside your coat but your face is kind of numb, though. We've agreed not to clean up too early, because we'll need to do it again this afternoon.

Naturally, we have plans for this evening that involve leaving our nice warm house.

Maryn, who'll enjoy it nevertheless

When I lived in Kansas for a while, I used to walk back and forth to work and everywhere else, and I have memories of it being seventeen below and the wind just cutting right through my numb face but I'd be sweating bullets under my million layers of clothes.
I may be in Thailand right now, but oh boy can I relate.

Pandora who once jumped in Glacial runoff while in Alaska...for fun.

You have very understanding bosses, Pandora. You're lucky like that. I'll take the 91 degree high weather - without the, you know, flooding and airborne diseases and human trafficking.

LOL yeah, well, I completely missed the flooding since I came after the fact, my typhus was transmitted via bug bite so not exactly airborne, and I haven't been 'trafficked' so I guess I got it pretty good, huh?
Did I mention it was a really humid 91?...

Oh, and not only could I not work today but I was told tonight to wait another day...so I have tomorrow off too. I do have some really good bosses. But I am suffering from cabin fever a bit, I think. Little stir crazy.

So, this brings me to the question, What are you reading? Sick time is reading time, unless you're too sick to read.

With nearly 2,500 books in her Kindle, she's got plenty to choose from.

Some trash. I read Andre Agassi's memoir 'Open' And something called 'Serial' which was pretty interesting. The premise was this: what happens when a serial killer picks up another serial killer (hitchhiker) But I think I liked the premise better than the actual execution (no pun intended).

Mostly I look at recipes, or as Russ calls it, Food Porn, dreaming about what I'll cook when I'm 100%.

I'm slow, I don't get the "personal services" line. Anyway, happy reading - I'm watching "TV" to while* away another boring pointless Sunday night.

*I guess that's the term. I dunno, you all know more than I do.

Yes, that's the term and used quite aptly. You're kidding, right?

Ya gotta check out the Dexter book series if you haven't already. Excellent.

Mmmm..that's a good idea. I'm still recovering from this dang cold (flared up my asthma symptoms) and I haven't read a "trashy" book in ages. My mom usually has at least one.

mario, I've learned through critique that when people don't get what I mean from my writing, it doesn't mean they're dumb. It means I need to write more clearly.

My little 'personal services' joke was about selling you to traffickers. Lame, huh?

Okay, turning over a new leaf: We went out last night (nasty night to leave the house, too) to see The Pink Floyd Experience. It was really, really good. The guy in front of us, both high and drunk? Not so much. But this city being what it is, people tolerated his annoying antics with fairly good humor.

I mean (and I can say this since the statute of limitations has expired), I've been to shows high, and had plenty to drink in public many times, but I still took care not to bother other people in the audience.

Maryn, who's been drunk in front of Sassy

Oh, OK. You wouldn't get much for me. You wouldn't even get enough for a quality cup of cappuccino. At least not if Saturday was any indication. It'd hardly be worth your trouble.

Anyway, I'm glad you had a fun time at the concert. Was that a cover band or something? I don't follow band tour trends...again, I do recall seeing Pink Floyd in college (without Roger Waters, boo). I saw everyone in college - Syracuse was stop #114 on the 500-city tour for every band, I'm sure still is. Which didn't guarantee they would be at their best whenever they rolled through...I recall one lead singer joking about the skeezy rock club in town, the "one in Rochester with the pole in the middle of the stage", and getting an earful from the audience.

Yes, the Pink Floyd Experience is like the premier cover band, official authorized by the living members. They had the psychedelic backdrop and the flying pig and everything.

Now I'm wondering what club in Rochester has a pole in the middle of the stage. Not that I'm exactly a club person...

Hee hee. The Lost Horizon in Syracuse was the club with the pole. Here's some buds from college playing that stage. (Warning: politically incorrect punk rock, 80s hair styles and crappy sound)

But it could indeed mean that as well. At least, that's what I tell myself to make me feel better when someone doesn't get my writing. :D

The politically incorrect ones are the best 80's bands. Good lord, AW is making me feel old lately. Excuse to use new emoticon: :gaah ,I'm old.

I empathize, Bea, but don't blame AW. Everytime I turn around something makes me feel old.

(Note to self: Stop turning around!)

Oh, Komnena, I'm so sorry to hear it! May he recover quickly and fully.

Kenthepen, nice to have you join us. If turning around is what makes a person feel old, it's a wonder I'm not dizzy as hell.

Maryn, not a dizzy blonde (kind of a spazzy brunette, though)

Or anti-V Day if that's what you're going for.

:e2heartbe I just wanted an excuse to use this one.

Careful, you'll get dizzy old man.

Roomie has had a stroke. He and we need your prayers.

Sorry to hear that K. Hope they'll be ok. Did they get to the hospital in time to get that special treatment for breaking up clots in the brain? I think the window is three hours or something. Can't remember. (As far as better recovery)

My condolences to Komnena.

And Pandora, happy Tuesday in Bangkok - my smart-aleck ribbing aside, I'm hoping your feeling better and doing well.
