Sorry if this question has been asked before. I searched the forum, but didn't find the exact answer.

Here's my annoying problem. I start each new chapter of my manuscript on a new page, as you are supposed to do. But then, when I export it into a .doc file, that gets throw off. The chapters start all over the place. It drives me crazy. Everything else transfers fine, as far as I'm aware. It's just this one issue.

I don't know if this changes anything, but when I end one chapter, I manually hit return until I get to the next page to start the new chapter.

It looks fine on my end, but it apparently goes haywire when I export. Is there any way to keep my formatting?

You need to use the Insert Page Break optin in Pages, in the Insert menu.

A page break, in any word processor, inserts a special invisible character that says "This is a page break."

Also; make sure you're using the Ruler or Paragraph settings and styles to indent paragraphs; don't use tabs.
