Correctly used, condoms do a damn good job of preventing STDs (and pregnancy!). But nobody's gonna say no to an improvement that ups those odds. Say, a condom coated in antiviral gel that kills up t0 99.9% of HIV, genital herpes, and human papillomavirus. Australia just said yes, and hopefully the U.S. isn't far behind.

The key component here is VivaGel, an antiviral gel powered by nanotechnology. The gel's active ingredient is millions and millions of nano-sized molecules. These perfectly symmetrical 3D branching structures glom onto viruses like HIV, HPV, or the virus that causes genital herpes, preventing them from binding to human cells. No binding, no infection.

Step in the right direction for getting rid of stds.

Sooner or later, the nanos will realize that this is their chance at world domination. They'll break through to condom, hitch a ride on the sperm and impregnate the women. Nanite babies will be born. At first they'll seem normal enough. Of course, they'll be smarter than us. Stronger. They won't have the same emotional responses, but will have an instinctive drive to find other Nanite babies and reproduce. With each generation, the Nanite Babies will become less and less human. Less fallible and more aggressive towards us normal humans.

It will be the beginning of the end.

Or something like that.

This could very well trigger the catholic church's weekly outburst.

You people do know that nanotechnology doesn't JUST include nanorobotics, right?

Like, hell, our computers are edging near nanotech, just due to the scale of the etchings on the components. It just means any kind of technology that is VERY VERY SMALL.

"you people' is considered a rude phrase most places I've been. And yes, most of us know what nanotechnology means...but we have to be consistent for humor's sake...

Nano and condom in the same sentence? Marketing nightmare.
