As in "so-and-so is not a member of any public groups" on each profile page. Just curious what these are and whether we can create them.

And are Cletus and Bartimus secret societies? ;)

What's the "Public Groups"

that appears in the profile saying "... is not/is a member of a Public Group"? Curious.

Me too curious.

I know it's the program that puts it there. Other forums that use the same program as AW, has the public groups thing as well.

vBulletin, the software that runs the Water Cooler, has an option to have members belong to "public groups," which we simply don't use . . . it's not that big a deal, since we're all here because we are interested in writing.
But it could be used to identify particular interests, and associate those interests with access; it would then require that someone approve all such requests, and with 13K members . . . . PITA.
