That's happened to me too. But the universe balances itself out some times since I have gotten a request from an agent I didn't query.

I really don't know and doubt it was passed on. This happened in 2009.

I queried an agent using her direct email address per sub req and get a form rejection in about 2 weeks. About a little over a month later I get a partial request from a different agent at the same agency. I didn't email anyone else there and I'm not sure that the agent who rejected me would pass along my rejected query.

It was just odd, but I did get excited, of course. One of those karma, fairy godmother kinda thingies. Led to a rejection though.

It was like getting helped up by someone only to have him kick you in the balls.
