French kissing if there's no France

I would just say, "It's easier to make out with a gremlin," or "It's easier to kiss a gremlin." Although with the latter, you'd be edging close to "I'd rather kiss a Wookie," which might be seen as too derivative.

Just want to point out that the origin of "Teddy Bear" is related to Teddy Roosevelt, who also wouldn't have existed in your world. So you may want to call that character a stuffed bear instead.
