Im not usually one to brag, but Tonight, I finished my first ever novel.

Its only a first, and I have a lot of work ahead, but I am as pleased as I can be.

I just wanted to share, since a lot of you helped me through, whether you know it or not.

Thanks everyone, Im going to dance now. :partyguy:

I bawled when I finished my first, especially since I had nobody to tell. Congratulations! Now shove it into a drawer, draw a pic, eat some chocolate, take a bubblebath, take a walk, have a facial, go to a nightclub, buy some clothes! You deserve it!

Brag, Brag and Brag. On this board especially. Great work.
Put it somewhere you cant find it; for the next 6 weeks. The In laws house might be a good idea:)

Fantastic accomplishment, well done!! You have a right to feel proud of yourself. Now, take a short break and tackle those rewrites and edits!

Many congratulations!

Here's hoping to follow in your footsteps one day (finishing the 1st novel, I mean and posting in celebration... I keep abandoning storylines.... tho the good news is each time I manage to write a longer story before jumping ship, so I'm holding onto the hope I'll actually make it to "The End" some day....)

But I digress.

C O N G R A T S again!!

Good for you, JS! It's a great feeling, isn't it?

I've told this story here before ... when I finally typed THE END in my first novel, I ran out to tell my wife....

"I did it! I did it!"

"Did what?"

"I finished it!"

"Finished what?"

"The novel. My book. I finished it, I actually wrote a whole novel!"

"That's nice, dear. What do you want for supper?"

Nice work JS!

ChunkyC, that's sad and funny at the same time. It reminds me of the response my parents had when I finished my first novel.

Thanks alot everyone... It's great to be able to share something like this with other people who have done the same/are working towards the same. This is a huge moment for me.

To those of you who havent gotten there yet, you will. Just trust me.
To those of you who have, I finally understand what a big deal it is.

The AW forums have helped me poilish and even finish my wip over the past year or two. This place is like a spinning stone, always sharpening our blades. I owe many thanks for that. :)

Im going to sit on it for a month before I edit, although im fighting the urge to do it now.

Only your first?? Please, too many writers never do finish a novel! Give yourself credit for a job well done! :)
