I'm watching a Romanian movie. Small cast; two people stuck in an elevator.

Oh, no! We missed my seventh anniversary here. It was two days ago.

Gifts still accepted.

Sounds like Dawson's Creek.

There was an Romanian in my german school class. He was a rugby international.

ROAR :D

ETA: You mean my gift hasn't arrived? Looks like I should have gone with fedex instead of stoopid ups.

Are they just now showing Dawson's Creek in Europe?

Michelle Williams dies. It's a real tear-jerker.

No, I think I got onto the whole Dawson's Creek thing through a tenuous Nicole Kidman - Tom Cruise - Katie Holmes train of reasoning.

Although, to be honest, here in Jarmany it's more than possible that Dawson's Creek really is the next big thing. They are waaaaay behind the times in some ways.

Absolutely!

FedEx is headquartered in Memphis. If I'm not mistaken, because of FedEx the Memphis airport is like the busiest airport in the US (or the world), but it's not ranked that way since it's mostly freight and not passengers. Or, something like that. Anyway, it's a damn busy airport.

I went a couple of times on my way to other places.

I've never had any interest in going to Vegas, for either the gambling or the shows.

In the old days visitors to Vegas used to watch the atomic test blasts. Which, as it turned out, wasn't really such a good idea.

Did you visit Area 51 while you were there?

Exciting news!

Starbucks will no longer be using red dye made from bugs.

Does the red dye come from squishing said bugs?

Ugh, I can't type properly right now. I cut my nails, and it feels really weird typing now. Stoopid new kettle - I broke a nail getting it out of the box, so I had to cut all of them (because I'm a little OCD).

Please tell me they weren't putting Cochineal in the coffee! Why would they need to do that?

Great minds think alike! Has Starbucks made it to RSA, Gail?

And Cliff, I would like an answer to that question too!!

Congratulations, Syd! Microwaves are great for popcorn. Microwaves are bad for reheating pie because the crust gets soggy; best to use a convectional oven for that. I learnt that from experience years ago.

Erm, they weren't freaky long or anything. Long enough to be a nuisance for opening cans, not so long that I couldn't do so, long enough that people commented on them (apparently it's weird for a guy to have long nails?) but not so long that they would be considered long for a woman (probably - maybe "little long" as opposed to "wow, those are LONG").

I never realised how much I relied on my nails for typing, though, until I cut them then tried to write something.

Of course, I've gotten used to it now, because... *drum roll* I just typed the entire first draft of my English essay! Woo! I went over by 90 words - 1590 - but that's within acceptable deviation.

Tomorrow I guess I get to edit the crap out of both my essays in preparation for going back to Uni on Monday. (They're due the next week.)

Oh, and on Sunday, we're having a birthday lunch for mum. I don't think we've ever done a birthday lunch before... Usually it's birthday dinner, and we save the special lunch for Christmas.

Open invitation (which stays open for you & you know it!) to Singapore for Starbucks or Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf or Bali coffee (or Java or Sumatra) at any one of our famous hawker centres although the one by the beach is best (not a great beach, though - reclaimed land fringing filthy sea from one of the world's busiest ports).

But do come! I'll also throw in cake. No pie, just cake. Pie here is like pie in any Commonwealth country - savoury.

Jarmaneigh is aright. It's a pretty country. Have you been any cool places there yet?

I dunno. The first time I left Heidelberg in three months was last weekend, when I went to Mannheim to buy a bike. That was pretty cool!

Heidelberg's nice too 'n stuff!

We have a whole list of places to go and see, though.
