2006 Feast of Poetry Competition

My poem, Beauty of Fire, has made finalist in a local competition. It will be printed in a book, I think displayed at an art gallery and I will be reading it out at a luncheon at the gallery along with other finalists. Its the first poetry comp I've entered so Im quite pleased indeed. Hopefully it's the first of many

My poem mentioned above won first prize in the competition! I won $150, got a pretty little certificate, read out my poem (and didn't make a mistake), it's in the book under my name and saying it won first prize, and may get published in the local newspaper. Yay

Hehe I won't forget you guys cos you guys were the one who helped me get that good lol. Though I got a rejection today for more poetry but that just makes me a fully fledged writer - right?

Well I received the news today that my poem, Beauty of Fire, has actually been published in the local newspaper. Granted its a couple of months since I won the competition but nevertheless it's still exciting news.
