Dance Memoir Recs
I wanted to ask for recommendations for dance memoirs - but not necessarily ones about famous dancers/ballerinas. I'm also looking for more modern ones / recently published. Does anything come to mind? Also, if any such memoirs are YA. I've read and enjoyed the MG graphic novel memoir To Dance by Siena Cherson Siegel (http://www.todance.info/) and am looking for more books similar to this, but not graphic novels.

Have you tried going into amazon and searching for dance memoir? If you're market-checking, that's the easiest thing to do. If you just want recommendations for a good contemporary dance memoir read, sorry, can't think of any. Blessings, Siri Kirpal

Yes, I've tried searching Amazon and my local library catalogue. But it seems there are a ton of memoirs that use the word dance in the title that have nothing to do with actual dancing. :S

Ah! Come to think of it, that's so true. Okay, I assume you're a dancer if you're asking this question. Have you tried asking other dancers? Blessings, Siri Kirpal

A Very Young Dancer by Jill Krementz is considered a children's classic. NY Times recently did a story catching up with the little girl and what happened to her after being in the book. There are relatively few memoirs in MG and YA. Good luck in your search!
