Specutopia - Magazine of Speculative Fiction now open for submissions [1 cent/word]

We're pleased to announce the launch of Specutopia, a new, high-quality, speculative fiction web/e-zine. Initially, we are offering payment of 1 cent per word. We accept short stories between 1500-5000 words.

We are a bi-monthly publication, and the first issue is scheduled for release July 2012.

~~Specutopia is also accepting submissions for cover art at a rate of $50 per piece.~~

It's only been a week and we've already received well over 50 submissions. We want to thank all the authors who have submitted works, as well as all the people who have offered words of encouragement and support.

We're on schedule for a July 2012 release of Issue One. If you would like to submit a story for consideration for inclusion in the first issue, please submit no later than early June.

Just a quick update to the thread. Specutopia is no longer accepting art submissions for the time being. If, and when, we re-open to art submissions, an announcement will be made on the Specutopia website.

Update: We're now in the final selection phase for Issue One of Specutopia. We've received a large number of excellent submissions, and, overall, far more than we expected for the first month after launch. We'll be finalizing the lineup and sending out notices in the next few days. Once again, thank you to all the authors who have submitted stories, and for all the supportive comments and input. And, keep those submissions coming it - Issue Two is right around the corner.

We're please to announce the official launch of Specutopia, Issue One! We've put together a great line-up of stories from some really excellent authors. Check out http://www.specutopia.com for more details.

The next bi-monthly issue is on schedule for release September 2012. Please get your submissions in by early August for consideration for the second issue.

We've also made a number of changes to the website, and have made a number of changes to the submission guidelines. Please review the updated guidelines before submitting.
