I'm trying to strip the formatting out of a document. I've pasted it into Notepad but it didn't work. The paragraph indents and line spacing are still there, at least in part of it.

Thanks for any suggestions.

If you want to do it in the Word file (or a copy of the Word file), you can clear all formatting (from either the styles dropdown menu or with a shortcut key combination), and then remove the tabs with the Replace command.

I don't use Word 2000, so I'm working in the blind a little.

I can give you more detailed instructions if you think this would work for you.

I've looked everywhere, and I don't have the option to clear formatting. If Notepad doesn't do it, I don't know what will? :) I've already set it to Normal, but it didn't make any difference.

Eureka! It's fine now. I isolated the part of the document that was causing the grief and re pasted it etc. Problem solved. (at least for now :)
