Description help please . . .

Hi guys,

Been contracted to do a fictional bug project for a children's pub. Need some help here. They described to me what type of bug each character was. Do I need to tell this early in the story? It kind of sounds weird giving off all the types of bugs they are as they arrive.

This is for a book for older children so I'm stuck having to do the descriptions - that's why I do mostly pb's . . . I get to throw all my laziness off on an artist! ; ) Just teasing . . . ok -ok - mostly true. lol
