    YADS.

Yet Another Display Site, with a slight twist: it appears that the first book is a self-publishing effort.

Let's just say that the odds are even more strongly against success than they are with any other publishing effort not being run by experienced industry people with substantial financial backing and the willingness/ability to wait three to five years before seeing their first potential profit. Not to mention that the display system probably uses up first publication rights, and might create some real interesting questions come a copyright infringement suit.

In other words, based on what's visible, Not Recommended.

He finished his frappuccino grande, clicked the print icon on his computer, put the muzzle of a Colt .38 in his mouth, and sprayed his brain in a five-foot splash pattern on the wall behind him.

I think the author just ruined any chances of a Starbucks commercial tie-in.

But, but, for $244 they'll make you a 60-second "trailer" for your book! How could you not be impressed?

Most welcome. Are you trying the root site, or SlushMe? There's nothing at the main MineFalls Press site, but SlushMe's still active.

    It certainly sounds aggressive....

The front page is gone, but subpages like http://www.minefallspress.com/trailermill/ and http://www.minefallspress.com/slushme/ are still up. No sign of life, though.

ETA: Remainder of site is gone. Other defunct projects: CurrentDraft.com, SlushMe.com, TrailerMill.com, and GotPlot.com. A contest on the later produced an anthology in '10 (pubbed via CS).

If Amazon is to be believed, published a not-by-owner book in '14.
