For over three months I have been having the toughest time trying to get an editor of a California based trade publication to respect my standard submission rights for a highly researched article I am offering for free to his membership only publication. I am having to educate this guy about reprint rights and article ownership and it has really been a time consuming hassle for me.
(I am published in scores of professional publications that have paid me and I make a point of offering a certain amount of free articles to help colleagues develop their professional skills )
Today I was contacted by the president of the national organization of the same profession in Poland asking my permission to publish and translate several of my articles. I am so honored. And so tickled that there are editors out there that know the process or respecting a writer's work.
Poland 1 California 0.
