Cohen was a long time waiting. God bless them for giving him his due. I love him.

FYI...love the new avatar, Johnny!

I can see having all of them in the hall of fame.

I'm not the biggest Madonna fan (closer to the other end of the scale, actually), but there's no denying the career she's had and the impact she's had on the music industry.

John Cougar has been around since before he was a melon. :)

Leonard Cohen should be the poet emeritus of the music biz.

Dave Clark Five and The Ventures - legendary.

Gamble & Huff - equally legendary. They helped define soul music.

There has been complaining about the Madonna induction, but there is no discounting the impact she has made on pop music. I don't like her music, but she has had a long and amazing career.

I think a distinction needs to be made between pop music and rock music. It is, after all, the Rock and Roll hall of Fame, not the Pop Music Hall of Fame. Madonna and rock and roll? Don't see the connection, let alone a history deserving of a place in rock's shrine to greatness.

The Ventures are the world's best selling instrumental band. Thanks to Japan where they have acquired an immense cult status. They're bigger there than they ever were here and they were huge here.

The Ventures are, IMHO, pure greatness. Telstar, Mexico, Miserlou, Walk Don't Run, et al.
