I got an acceptance today for a 6000+ word short story. It's being sent for editing and I should get a contract in the next few days.
Oh, Tri, I so hear you! I wasn't even aware of Amazon ratings until a couple of weeks ago and I swear, I am now a complete addict. (Like I needed another addiction, now that I'm on Twitter.)
{{{{Snappy}}}} So sorry. :-( But yes, I think the fact that there's no consensus is a good sign that it's subjective and you'll find the *right* editor soon!
((((Snappy))))
I'm feeling for you. But, yeah, it is nice to have an agent on your side.
Did you get any feedback on the new book?

sweetie, you're a professional dancer. You looked terrific while doing it, hands down.
Finally heard back from my agent. She read the manuscript with the edits I spent three months on.
Didn't like it, won't shop it. I should find someone else.
My betas liked this version way better than the old. *I* think it's a vast improvement on the old. I think my agent did one round of submissions on what she thought would be a quick sell, it didn't go so now she wants to give up.
((((Drachen))))
This stinks, but honestly, if she gave up after only one round of submission, it sounds like she isn't the right agent for your work.
